You know.. similar to cars.com as well as such. Do they list them as shortly as they come in.. or do they try to sell them first?

It really depends on the vehicles, some are hot and they sell them asap and some are not, so they put them on-line.
Here at the dealership where I work, as soon as a car is traded in, it gets cleaned up and put online almost immediately. Like within 3-4 days.
Hello- Dealers have to get the titles to their cars before they can sell them. If the car has a payoff, the title can be as far as a month away… But as soon as they are able to sell them they should post immediately… The problem is that some dealers are lazy or not computer savvy, so they are at the mercy of their web guy to upload the info… Any large dealership with a web person on staff will be “Johnny on the spot” with postings… after all, a sale is a sale whether the customer walks in the door or if they find the car online. I hope this helps.
Different dealers have different procedures. I have seen some that will put the car on the used car lot before it even gets detailed, while others will recondition the vehicle, which can take over a week. It also depends on the vehicles condition when it is traded. If there are no blemishes and it has recently been serviced at the dealer, then it might hit the used car lot in less than a day. On average, I would say 3-5 days from trade in to sales lot.
