My crony totaled her automobile whilst on vacation her family in Pennsylvania (we have been from Florida). She’s is ostensible to be entrance behind Aug 13th, so she can’t do anything about shopping a latest automobile until she returns. Anybody know how prolonged Progressive will let her operate a rental, as well as how do they understanding with things similar to rentals for out of state accidents (she still needs to expostulate home).

the answer is in her policy. When you purchase insurance for extended transportation to cover a rental if you have an accident there are different limits you can purchase. For instance, I usually sell 30/900. That means $30 per day, up to $900 dollars total (which is 30 days). Most coverage is for 30 days. You could call progressive or better yet, go online if you have her policy number and password and you can check.
Good luck
If they supply a rental at all, it will be until they settle with her. Once they settle you return the rental. They don’t let you keep it until you get a new car, and they may not let her leave the state with the rental.
If she has rental reimbursement coverage, her rental will stop about 2 days after the settlement offer is made. Not when she accepts it, but when the insurance company offers it. As far as her getting home, Progressive is not responsible for that. It was your friend’s choice to drive to PA, now she will need to get herself home. The car rental place MAY allow her to drive a rental to Florida, but that is up to the rental agency, not Progressive. And she will have to pay extra for the additional mileage. Once again, that’s only if they will agree to let her take the car to FL. Otherwise, your friend will have to pay her own way home.
She needs to call her adjuster to hear all her options and get all the details.
