Instead of regulating my car, how can i get my automobile word association to emanate me a check for a damages?

My 1996 Lexus ES 300 with over 200,000 miles was strike (not my fault) upon a back expostulate side tire well. we got an guess for it, as well as it was we estimate $2,900 prior to rip down. Seeing which my automobile might not final any most longer, how does a single ask for a check for a indemnification to a car? My word is AAA.

Contact the other insurance company and submit your estimate for $2900. However inform them that you would prefer to have the repairs done at your time and convenience and at your preferred dealer and so could they just send you the check in your name, please. Once you get the check cash it and then decide if u want to get the car repaired or not.

    Your welcome.

You should be able to just have them send you the check. If they do give you any trouble, just tell them you have a shop that you prefer and would like the money sent to yourself.

Im assuming you dont still owe money on your car? (b/c if you do.. you have to get your car repaired- you dont have the choice to just get a check)

Simply tell your insurance company you just want a check for the damages because your not sure if/when your going to get your car repaired. They dont care if you repair or not- they just want to pay out for the damages and have the claim be over.

Good luck with that the insurance company will want the car fixed, other wise they would leave themselfs open for the same claim in the future.

At best, you will only get what the book value of it is. If that value is more than the estimate, the insurance company may decide to fix it. If the value is less than the estimate, then they will more than likely cut you a check for it.

It is up to the insurance company as to what they do. Totally up to them and the economics of the deal. Best you could hope for is to negotiate a bit, but it’s unlikely they will budge.

Find out the Kelly Blue Book value of your car and if it (the value) is less than or close to $2900 the the insurance company should total it out and send you a check for the value.

I wouldn’t mention to your insurance adjuster that your car was on it’s last leg…that might further reduce the value. Wasn’t your car very reliable? I’m sure it was.

You tell AAA you want to do a “cash out.” They will issue you a check for the estimate. As long as their is no lienholder the check will be issued to you. However, depending on what AAA club insures your vehicle, you may have to later prove you had the repairs done to the Underwriting department.

They don’t care – it usually is your choice. They either pay for repairs or for diminished value.
