Next to nothing. How often do you idle anyway. It’s not worth spending $$$ to try and sort it, as you will spend more doing that than you will in fuel.
The idle is determined by the minimum engine speed the engine can maintain, before stalling.
You can’t just magically reduce it.
Think of it this way. Try slowing your heart down from it’s normal rhythm. (hold your breath for a long time, and you’ll start to slow down your heart)
maybe a gallon a week if you just let it sit there and run but not sure why anyone would idle that long really more likely to use more by not running right
engine idles at 900 in neutral/park is the way it is supposed to be set because when you put the engine in gear with accessories like heater etc on the engine will have a “load ” on it and idle about 500-600 rpm which is what it is set at factory. If you set idle at 500 rpm in neutral the engine will stall when put in gear so you will consume more fuel constantly restarting.

See how that feels, lol.

if your getting 20 mpg, maybe its better to get a more economical car.
you do know you use less gas when idling than when driving. if you really wanted to save, get another car, or drive more smoothly.
if you lowered yor idling to 500 rpm, i don’t think it would run very smoothly if it ran at all.
